November 3/10    2010 OSC 10 & under series #1 recap

    Silver Tide sent 16 swimmers to the first 10 & under series meet of the season. For our 10 & under swimmers, this meet serves our Junior Development and JAG groups in two different ways:

  1. Our Junior Development swimmers get their feet wet (so to speak) with competing at a relatively small competition that eases them into racing in a fun and constructive way;
  2. Our top 10 & under JAG swimmers are among the best swimmers eligible for this meet, and they get important practice at winning races and being among the best at a swim meet - not a skill to underestimate as many older swimmers never learn to be comfortable leading a race.
   The meet went exceptionally well. Coach Chris came up to the meet to witness the absolute expertise with which Coaches Erica and Chelby prepared the swimmers. The kids had fun and enjoyed their first meet of the season, including 3 swimmers attending their first-ever competition: Skylar Allsopp, Autumn Chmilar, and Mathew Smith. I know there will be many more first-time racers at our upcoming novice meets in November.

Way to go, Tide!
