November 3/10 2010 EKSC Octoberfest swim meet recap A total of 46 Silver Tide swimmers took part in the opening competition of the season. Oktoberfest is an important early-season opportunity for the coaches to gauge their new and returning swimmer's strengths and weaknesses. And, for the swimmers it is important to get back to what the sport of competitive swimming is all about: competing! It was fun to be back racing again! For starters, 43 out of 46 swimmers swam best times. Wow. For the JAG and YD groups in particular, they had only 3 weeks of practice before this meet. The time results certainly surpass any possible expectations leading into the meet. More importantly, coaches came away from the meet with several new technical and training goals for their groups. We are constantly striving to improve and coach the swimmers to new milestones in their sport. With the coaches, swimmers and parents working together again this year, we surely have another best ever season in store for Silver Tide. Way
to go, Tide!
