November 16/10  I Can Swim Update

    It feels like we've only just started but we're already only a few weeks away from wrapping up our first session of I Can Swim. With things all starting to happen in a hurry around the holiday season I wanted to take the opportunity to point out a few new things happening in the program and some important upcoming dates.

    If you're registered for any of the Monday/Wednesday classes you may already have noticed an extra coach in the water. I'm really happy to welcome back Jennifer Court to ICS. Jennifer will be a regular on deck for the rest of session 1 assisting the group coaches to ensure each practice runs smoothly  and making sure that every swimmer gets some extra 1-on-1 coaching time to help improve their skills. Jennifer will be helping out both Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday classes.

    I don't often get the chance to see the Tuesday/Thursday groups swim so I'd like to let everyone know that I will be coming in this Thursday Nov 18 to help out with the classes as well as answer any questions you may have about our program. If you do have any questions or concerns or just want to talk about the Silver Tide program, please try to attend Thursday's practice. If you can't make it on Thursday or if any other questions come up, please know that I am always available through email and I do my absolute best to respond to all emails within a day. Fortunately, I do get the chance to see the Monday/Wednesday classes swim regularly so if you happen to be registered in one of those groups and have a question, don't hesitate to hunt me down on deck or send an email.
Finally some important dates to keep in mind:

• Nov 18 - Maciek at Tue/Thu group practice
•  Dec 6/7 - Re-registration opens. Laurie Whiteside will be on deck taking registrations for session 2. By this time the coaches will have decided which stage will be the best fit for your swimmer for session 2 and Laurie will have this information. If you do have any questions about group selection, please let me know.
• Dec 9 - Last day for Tuesday/Thursday classes. Stage Passports will be handed out on this day to each swimmer. If you have an old passport that you would like to continue, please give it to your swimmer's coach as soon as you can.
• Dec 10 - Open Registration begins
• Dec 13 - Last day for Monday/Wednesday classes. Stage Passports will be handed out on this day to each swimmer. If you have an old passport that you would like to continue, please give it to your swimmer's coach as soon as you can.
